Frequently asked questions

Yes, we do our best to accommodate urgent requests and can often offer same-day or next-day appointments. The sooner you get in touch, the more likely we are to find a time that suits you.

Not necessarily. We offer telephone consultations for patients who prefer or require remote care. Some situations may still require an in-person visit, and we’ll always do what we can to accommodate that.

Before your visit, we’ll ask you to complete a registration form. If you have a history of medical conditions or are taking medication, it’s helpful to send us this information in advance so your HCA UK doctor is fully prepared.

The more information you give us, the easier it is for us to help you safely. We strongly recommend that you obtain an NHS GP summary from your NHS GP surgery so that we’re fully briefed about your medical history and any medications that you take. If you have any consultant letters at home or on your computer or electronic device, then you should let us have those as well.

Yes, we can arrange appointments for children and young people. Depending on their age and medical needs, a parent or guardian may need to accompany them, especially for the initial consultation.

Yes, prescriptions can be sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice or arranged by the pharmacy for home delivery, depending on what works best for you.

Yes, if further investigation or specialist care is needed, our GPs can arrange private referrals to a wide network of consultants and services. As part of HCA Healthcare UK’s network of private hospitals, we can offer a fast track to some of the UK’s leading specialists.

Absolutely. We will always expect to send a referral letter to your specialist and copy you in provided we’ve seen you for a consultation. If your insurer requires a referral letter or documentation, we’re happy to help, provided we’ve seen you for a consultation. We’ll ensure the letter includes all relevant medical details.

We care for a wide range of health issues, from everyday illnesses and infections to skin concerns, women's and men’s health, mental wellbeing, musculoskeletal conditions, and more. You can find more information about some of our services here.

Appointment fees vary depending on the length and type of consultation. For up-to-date pricing, please contact our team directly, or have a look at our current price list below.
